Human Resource and
Safeguarding Officer

Era92 Group is seeking a dedicated and experienced Human Resource and Safeguarding Officer to manage our HR functions and ensure the safety and well-being of our staff, volunteers, and beneficiaries.

This role is pivotal in fostering a positive work environment, upholding safeguarding standards, and promoting a culture of respect and accountability.

Key Responsibilities

● Human Resources Management
  1. Recruitment & Onboarding:

    • Develop and implement transparent recruitment processes to attract and retain top talent.
    • Conduct comprehensive onboarding sessions to integrate new employees and volunteers into the organization.
  2. Policy Development & Compliance:

    • Create, update, and enforce HR policies in line with organizational goals and legal requirements.
    • Ensure all HR practices comply with local labor laws and organizational standards.
  3. Performance Management:

    • Design and oversee performance appraisal systems to evaluate staff performance and identify development needs.
    • Address employee relations issues, mediate conflicts, and implement disciplinary procedures when necessary.
  4. Training & Development:

    • Identify training needs and coordinate professional development programs to enhance employee skills and competencies.
    • Foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement within the organization.
● Safeguarding Responsibilities
  1. Policy Implementation:

    • Develop, implement, and regularly update safeguarding policies and procedures to protect staff, volunteers, and beneficiaries.
    • Ensure all personnel are aware of and adhere to safeguarding policies through regular training and communication.
  2. Incident Management:

    • Establish and manage a confidential reporting system for safeguarding concerns.
    • Conduct thorough investigations into safeguarding incidents, ensuring timely and appropriate responses.
  3. Awareness & Training:

    • Organize and lead safeguarding training sessions to educate staff and volunteers on best practices and reporting mechanisms.
    • Stay informed about current safeguarding issues and integrate relevant information into training materials.
  4. Monitoring & Reporting:

    • Monitor the effectiveness of safeguarding policies and procedures, proposing improvements as needed.
    • Prepare and present regular reports on safeguarding activities, incidents, and compliance to senior management.
● Administrative Responsibilities
  1. Office Management:

    • Oversee daily office operations to maintain a clean, organized, and efficient work environment.
    • Manage office supplies, equipment, and maintenance needs, ensuring timely procurement and repairs.
  2. Record Keeping:

    • Maintain accurate and confidential employee records, including personnel files and training documentation.
    • Ensure compliance with data protection regulations and organizational policies.
  3. Communication & Coordination:

    • Serve as a liaison between staff, management, and external stakeholders on HR and safeguarding matters.
    • Facilitate effective internal communication to promote transparency and collaboration across departments.

Qualifications & Skills

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, Social Sciences, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in HR management and safeguarding, preferably within the non-profit or creative sectors.

Skills

  • Strong understanding of HR practices, labor laws, and safeguarding principles.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to handle sensitive situations with discretion.
  • Proven ability to develop and implement policies and procedures.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities, with attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and HR management software.
