About the Organization
Fields of Life is committed to sharing the Christian faith, by collaborating with local communities and churches in East Africa, to bring about positive change through the provision of quality education, clean water, health promotion and other community based projects. They have been serving in Rwanda, Kenya, Uganda, Burundi, South Sudan & Democratic Republic of Congo for the past 25 years bringing clean water to communities and building schools.
To mark their new era of growth, Fields of Life invited era92 to help evolve their brand to reflect and fuel their mission and transformation impact they have had to date. The scope of work involved re-working who the brand is with precise communication, developing a fresh look and a full redesign of the website.

The Challenge
Brand & Communication Strategy
During our kick off discovery calls, every question answered circled back to the vision. But there wasn’t a vision in place.
The brand substance is nothing without a vision. And so, over the next week, we worked together to help write a powerful vision using these keywords; young people, education, Christ.
Fields of Life was also known for just one thing yet they focus on 4 areas. This meant that the messaging had to be more consistent throughout their promotional material.
The organization’s branding was also off. The ragged fonts and feel were not appealing, making a 25 year old brand look amateur.
Films
Before the subscription, Fields of Life would hire era92 for one-off film productions but one-offs are expensive which hinders regular documentation of their work on ground. The organization faced an issue of using old photos over and over again for donor reports, their social media and other documents.

Website Refresh
With the new brand look and feel, we proceeded to give the website the same look to maintain consistency. Together with the FOL internal creative team, we came up with short and clear messages for the home page that would help a visitor understand who Fields of Life is and what they do within the first 5 seconds which wasn’t the case on the old website.
We re-worked the navigation bar to include the most important elements like stories as they were never highlighted on the old website. Part of the reason the old website was so confusing was because of the numerous pages with lots of information that was poorly designed. We worked to ensure that every page communicates clearly what it’s meant to. We got rid of those pages that we could do without to create a short and straight to the point website.
Films
We offered a quarterly shoot of films and photos and any other time they need based on their annual work plan.
The team now has more time to focus on strategy while they rely on era92 to support their marketing through increased yet high quality creative output.
